Thai!!!!

Hey everyone,

Since we are going Thai next month, I thought we should get a little bit of information on the food that we are going to eat so that you all are prepared to indulge in these great flavors!

Thai cuisine is the national cuisine of Thailand. It places emphases on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatc components. Thai cuisine is known for being spicy, but they try their best to balance it out with 5 fundamental taste senses which include: hot, sweet, sour, salty, and (optional) bitter. I also know that Thai cuisine uses a lot of ginger. I am not a fan of ginger, but i KNOW there will be SOMETHING on the menu that doesn't use this ingredient LOL.

We went Greek!!! Opa :)

Last month, the group's pick was Greek! We finally decided on a date, restaurant, and made it official! We decided to go to Olympia Restaurant off of East Colonial (http://www.olympiaorlando.com/). For more pics, please check out our FB page (O's Good Eats).
At the end of the night, each person filled out a survey about the restaurant and its service. The questions on the survey were as follows:

- What type of atmosphere does this restaurant have (i.e. romantic, casual, relax, cold)?
- How was the service?

- What were the pros?

- What were the cons?

- Would you recommend this restaurant to a friend?

- Would you come back to this restaurant?

- How many stars (out of 5) would you give this restaurant?
The ladies answered truthfully, and after looking over all the data...here was the concensus on Olympia Restaurant:
- The atmosphere was casual and relax. A good place that you can either come and hang with friends, or on a casual date.

- The service was good, but it was also slow at times. It took us a while to get our appetizers and meals, but the waitress was very nice!

- Pros: THE DESSERTS! They were delicious! The food was good too, the waitress was awesome!

- Cons: The food took a long time to come out.

- Recommend to a friend? Yes

- Come back? Yes

- How many stars? 3.5

Overall, Olympia was a great first place to kick off O's Good Eats. We had a fabulous time, great conversation, and quality service!

Next month...we're going Thai!
Talk to you soon,
JB

Welcome!!!

Hi and welcome to O's Good Eats! We are a group of people (mostly ladies at the time) living in the Central Florida area who love having a good time while trying out various types of cuisines! Orlando is a BIG city and many cultures are represented here through food. We've already tried most of the "regular spots" people go out to dinner on, and wanted to try foods that were different and out of our comfort zone.

Our plan is to try a different cuisine once a month, for a total of 12 new experiences/appreciation for other cultures and their food by the end of the year! Each month will be dedicated to a cuisine, and we will post our 3 contenders. Everyone will be given a chance to vote, and majority will win! We will set a date...and make it a meal!!!!

I hope you hop on for the ride and enjoy this journey with us as we find the hidden treasures and/or flops that Orlando has to offer!

Talk to you soon!
